Mfikela Jean Samuel is a multi-award-winning contemporary artist, motivational speaker, and talent development coach whose work bridges continents and cultures.

Born in Shisong-Kumbo, Cameroon, and now based in North Wales, UK, Mfikela's vibrant acrylic paintings draw inspiration from his African heritage and Welsh experiences, creating a unique fusion that resonates globally.

His art has been showcased in esteemed venues such as the Millennium Centre in Cardiff and the National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth. Notably, he contributed to the National Library's decolonization project, creating works that challenge historical narratives and enrich the diversity of Wales' national art collection.

His art can be dramatic, subtle, large or small but often captures simplicity and context thus reflecting a true Artistic insight. Mfikela Samuel considers himself as an African contemporary Artist (Painter) inspired by his African heritage.

Beyond the canvas, Mfikela is a passionate advocate for youth empowerment. He conducts motivational talks and art workshops across primary and secondary schools in Wales, as well as universities and public spaces. His philosophy centers on the belief that every child possesses a unique gift, and through art, they can discover and express their innate talents.

Mfikela's commitment to fostering creativity extends to his work in Equality, Inclusion, and Diversity training for organizations. His workshops have reached international audiences, emphasizing the transformative power of art in personal and community development.

In 2024, Mfikela delivered a TEDx talk at TEDxSwansea titled "Staying Relevant by Learning, Unlearning and Relearning," where he shared insights on adaptability and personal growth in an ever-changing world. His message underscores the importance of embracing change and continuous learning to unlock one's full potential.
